Designed in 1947 by famed golf architect Robert Trent Jones, Rockrimmon Country Club’s golf course has been described by Golf Magazine as “a hidden gem.” Indeed, our finely manicured fairways take full advantage of the rolling New England topography showcasing magnificent vistas, and winding around two pristine lakes.

At 6,800 yards, our course offers our members and their guests a challenging yet highly rewarding and enjoyable golf experience. Each hole requires a unique set of shot making skills, with daunting green-side bunkers guarding lightning fast greens. Nowhere is this more evident than hole #8, where a spectacular risk-reward shot is required or at the signature par 3, 9th hole, crossing Ayers Lake onto a two-tiered, elevated green.

Impeccably maintained, Rockrimmon Country Club plays host to many USGA, MGA and WGA events including the USGA Amateur Sectional Qualifier (2013), the MGA Senior Amateur Championship (2014), and the US Open Sectional Qualifier (2017).

The golf course opens with a 465 yard par five. A slight bend from right to left is required off the tee. The green is well bunkered and slopes sharply from back to front with two tiers.

This 386 yard par four hole plays slightly uphill on the tee shot and downhill to the green. The green is uniquely shaped and one of our most difficult to read. If the flagstick position is back left, hit to the center of the green or risk disaster.

With newly renovated tee complexes and the addition of fairway bunkering, this long 563-yard par five puts a premium on accuracy. Hitting this green in two is a rare event. The drop in elevation makes this hole spectacular and the small elevated green, which is well bunkered, makes the approach shot one of our most difficult.

The tee shot on this slight dogleg right 379 yard par four must stay short of the creek that cuts across the fairway. Even though the green is one of the largest, the second shot must be accurate to avoid trouble left and a deep bunker in front.

This difficult 422-yard par four which demands accuracy off of the tee as the lake to the right is cut significantly into the hole. Wetlands and out of bounds guard the right side. The green is bowl-shaped and narrow with bunkers guarding the left and right sides.

Hole 6

This 415 yard par four has a ninety degree dogleg to the left, and only the longest hitters can cut the corner. From the tee, the fairway is tree-lined and the second shot is often played off an uphill lie to an elevated green. The green has two tiers and slopes from back to front.

A short 125 yard par three which requires a very accurate tee shot to a green that slopes severely from back to front. The front of the green is guarded by a huge, deep bunker. Stay below the hole as a downhill putt can spell disaster.

Some consider this 466 yard par four our toughest. A draw off the tee is preferred with out-of-bounds left and a severe dropoff to the right. A high risk/reward second shot will be played downhill to a narrow green protected by water to the right and a large bunker to the left.

Our signature 182 yard par three requires a carry over water to our most difficult two tiered green. The very narrow green is guarded by three deep bunkers and a short chip may roll back off toward the pond.

A long 404 yard par four, the tenth hole provides a challenge to golfers of all skill levels. The tee shot must avoid a well-placed fairway bunker to the left and tall trees to the right. The second shot must be accurate to a three-tiered green guarded by a steep drop-off and bunkers to the left and right.

The tee shot on this 157 yard par three is from an elevated tee, to a bowl shaped green well guarded by bunkers. Three putts on this undulating green are common.

This 450 yard par four is very difficult with a dramatic rise in the fairway. Once over the rise, the fairway is downhill to the green. Guarded by a bunkers on the right and left, the green is very difficult to read and slopes sharply from back to front.

The thirteenth hole measures 417 yards, but plays much longer as the fairway moves uphill. A new green complex adds drama to the hole which is guarded by two large bunkers in front and two smaller ones at the back. This is one of our toughest par fours.

This 564 yard par five starts off with an elevated tee shot to a fairway guarded by bunkers right and left. Accuracy and distance control are key for the second shot. The green is the largest and flattest on the course but well bunkered with trouble behind.

Our most scenic hole, with broad vistas from the newly built tee complexes. Long hitters may risk “going for it”, otherwise an accurate shot is required to lay up as a wide creek meanders across the fairway about one hundred yards short of the green. The green sits in a hollow guarded by bunkers and giant white pines.

A short 334 yard par four that requires an accurate tee shot to a tree-lined fairway. The fairway doglegs slightly from right to left but slopes from left to right. The green is elevated with two tiers and slopes from back to front.

This 137 yard par three plays uphill to a two-tiered green which is well-guarded by two huge, deep bunkers. The green slopes from back to front. Distance control is required.

A great finishing hole, this 437 yard par four demands the tee shot carry the hill leaving a long second shot to the green. The green is guarded by some of our largest bunkers. Missing to the right makes it almost impossible to get up and down since the green slopes right to left.
